The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of emotion-based therapy on love failure and life satisfaction in students of Azad University of Roudehen. The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population included all students studying at Azad University of Roudehen in the academic year 1399-1400. 40 girl and boy students were selected through cluster sampling and were assigned randomly into two experimental and control groups (n= 20 each). Experimental group received ten 2-hour sessions of emotion-based therapy. In this study, the data collection tool was the Love Trauma Questionnaire (Ross, 1999) and Life Satisfaction Questionnaire (Diener et al., 1985) which was administered before and after training. The collected data were analyzed using Spss software version 25 and multivariate analysis of covariance. The results of analysis of covariance showed that group emotion-based treatment significantly reduced love trauma syndrome and increased life satisfaction in the post-test stage compared to the pre-test in the experimental group compared to the control group (p <0.001). Therefore, this treatment can be used as a complementary treatment along with other psychological therapies to improve trauma syndrome and increase life satisfaction of these people.
