The aim of the current research was the effectiveness of Young's schema therapy training on resilience and parenting styles of mothers of secondary school students in district 5 of Tehran (Ponk). The current research was a semi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group. The statistical population of this research was made up of all the mothers of secondary school students in the 5th district of Tehran (Ponk) in the academic year 2018-2019, whose number is 1400. The sampling method of this study was in the form of clusters, where the number of sample groups including 30 people (15 experimental and 15 control) were randomly selected. In the pre-test and post-test stages, the participants completed the scales of resilience (Connor and Davidson, 2003) and parenting (Bamrin, 1998), and the subjects of the experimental group were trained in schema therapy during 10 sessions of 60 minutes. Data analysis was done using covariance analysis. The results showed that schema therapy training had the greatest effect on resilience with an effect size of (0.65), followed by a permissive parenting style with an effect size of (0.52) and then on an assertive parenting style with an effect size of (0.4). ) and lastly, it had the greatest impact on authoritarian parenting style with an effect size of (0.39). According to the results, it can be said that Yang schema therapy has an effect on improving the resilience and parenting styles of mothers of secondary school students.
