چکیده [English]

The present study was conducted in order to evaluate the effectiveness of group happiness training on the prevention of relapse in patients suffering from substance abuse. In a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design, 30 drug abuse patients referred to the self-reported welfare center of Shiraz, who had successfully completed the detoxification course, were selected using the available sampling method. Randomly, they were placed in two experimental and control groups (15 people each) and answered the recurrence prediction questionnaire in two stages, pre-test and post-test. Then, the experimental group underwent group happiness training for 10 ninety-minute sessions, and the control group did not receive any intervention. Data analysis was done by SPSS-21 software and using covariance analysis test. The results indicated a significant decrease in the relapse prevention score in the experimental group compared to the control group in the post-test phase. Therefore, happiness group training is effective in preventing the relapse of substance abuse patients.
