Comparison of personality traits, coping styles with marital depression in married female athletes and non-athletes in Ahvaz

Abstract
This study was applied research in terms of its purpose, and in terms of the method of controlling variables, it was a pilot study that was conducted with a post-event (causal comparative) method. The statistical population is all female athletes and non-athletes in Ahvaz. In order to access the athlete sample from four regions of Ahvaz and 20 clubs, athlete and control group samples were selected by cluster random sampling. The statistical population was also composed of all married women aged 25 to 75, of which 150 people were selected. The instruments were the Neo Five-Factor Personality Inventory (NEO-FFI) (1985), the Coping Styles Questionnaire (CSQ) (Roger Vanja Rian; 1993), and the Pines Marital Burnout Scale (CBM) (1996). Independent and dependent t-tests were used to test the hypotheses. SPSS version 23 software was used to analyze the data in this study. In this study, a significance level of 0.05 was considered. The results showed that there is a relationship between personality traits, coping styles, and marital depression in married female athletes and non-athletes in Ahvaz. According to the research findings, it is recommended to use a coping styles training program to reduce couples' burnout.
