Abstract
The aim of the present study is to investigate the effectiveness of teaching the concepts of choice theory on students' satisfaction and responsibility. The method of the present study was a quasi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the study included undergraduate students at Yadegar Imam Azad University, Tehran, during the academic year 2019-2020. The sample of the study included 40 subjects among students who had low scores on the satisfaction and responsibility scale. Data related to the variables were collected using the Memorial Newfoundland Satisfaction Questionnaire (Kuzma and Stones, 2000) and the Responsibility Questionnaire in two stages. The data were analyzed using the analysis of covariance method in SPSS software. The results showed that by controlling the pre-test scores of the variables, the effect of the satisfaction and responsibility pre-test on the post-test was not significant. That is, the satisfaction and responsibility scores of the subjects in the two groups did not differ significantly before the research. As a result, the changes in the post-test are the result of educational interventions. Because by controlling for this non-significant relationship, it was observed that the difference in mean satisfaction between the two groups was statistically significant at the (P<0.002) level.
