Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness-based stress reduction group training (MBSR) with paradoxical time table group therapy (PTTT) on the dimensions of fatigue and sleep quality in women with insomnia. Method of research was a semi-experimental type of pre-test-post-test with 1-month follow-up with two experimental groups and one control group. The statistical population included all women suffering from insomnia who referred to counseling centers and psychological services in the 3rd district of Tehran in the spring of 1403. 45 women suffering from insomnia were randomly selected and randomly assigned to the MBSR group (15 people), PTTT group therapy (15 people) and the control group (15 people). Kabat-Zinn (2005) MBSR protocol was conducted during 8 90-minute sessions and PTTT protocol was conducted during 6 90-minute sessions, and members of the control group were placed on the waiting list. Subjects were evaluated in 3 stages with Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Data analysis was done with repeated measures analysis of variance and Bonferroni's post hoc test through SPSS-28 software. The results of this research showed that MBSR and PTTT reduce fatigue and improve sleep quality in women with insomnia, and the treatment results were stable up to one month after the intervention. p<0.05). Also, MBSR to reduce fatigue dimensions and PTTT to improve sleep quality were more effective methods.
