Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of social identity in the parent-child relationship and cyberbullying. The statistical population of this research included all Iranian teenagers between September and December 2021, of which 384 people were selected as a statistical sample using the convenience sampling method. The research method was descriptive and correlational. To collect the required data, the Cyber-Bullying/Victimization Experiences Questionnaire (CBVEQ), the Parent-Child Relationship Survey (PCRS) by Fine et al., and the Social Identity Questionnaire by Safarinia and Roshan were used. In line with data analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient results showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between the relationship with parents and cyberbullying and a positive and significant relationship between the relationship with parents and social identity and its components (p<0.001). According to the results of Pearson's correlation coefficient, there is a negative and significant relationship between social identity and its components with cyberbullying, as well (p<0.001). Furthermore, the results of path analysis showed that both exogenous variables (relationship with father and relationship with mother) have only an indirect effect on the endogenous variable (cyberbullying), In other words, social identity has been able to play a significant mediating role for parent-child relationship and cyberbullying. This is despite the fact that the parent-child relationship did not have a direct effect on cyberbullying.
