Abstract
The aim of this study was to predict the tendency to high-risk behaviors based on emotional malaise and intolerance of uncertainty in adolescents with a history of self-harming behaviors. This research was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the study included adolescents aged 13 to 18 years living in quasi-family centers in Tehran. The sampling method of the present study was available and 90 people were selected by this method. The research instruments included a high-risk behaviors questionnaire, an Alexithymic scale and an uncertainty intolerance questionnaire. Pearson correlation and simultaneous linear regression were used to analyze the data. The results showed that emotional malaise and intolerance of uncertainty had a positive and significant relationship with high-risk behaviors (P <0.05). Regression results also showed that emotional malaise and intolerance of uncertainty could predict 0.45 high-risk behaviors (P <0.05).
